Our Story
Angelia Marie DiAntonio
AKA Lia
The bride was born in Canton, Ohio, on February 14, 1992. Her parents, Tony and Janice, also had three sons: Marc, John, and Nick. Lia’s family moved to Louisville, Ohio in 2003, and she graduated from Louisville High School in 2010.
She has always been artsy and creative, so she wanted to major in Graphic Design. She chose Kent State because it’s known for having a great Design program, and because it was only 40 minutes from home.
Tobias Felix Becker
AKA Tobi
The groom was born in Malsch, Germany, on November 25, 1991. He and his parents, Bernd and Heidi, moved to the US in 2001, when Tobi was nine years old. They lived in Connecticut for a few years, until they moved to California in 2008. There, Tobi graduated from Mission Hills High School in 2010.
He has always been interested in computers and tech, so he wanted to major in Computer Science. He liked Kent State after he visited Ohio, and was ready for another change of scenery.
2010
“Come on guys, it will be fun!”
Like true college sweethearts, Tobi and Lia met during the first weekend of college at Kent State. Lia went to the Honors College cookout with a couple of friends from high school, and convinced them to join in on a game of “Ninja” that some other kids were playing. The game grew until it was about 20 people playing, one of them being Tobi. Many of the people in that group became friends that day, including Lia and Tobi. Lia wrote in her diary that weekend about a handsome, shy guy she now had a crush on…
2010
“Will you go out with me?”
They studied with their friends in lounges throughout the Honors College almost every night, and Tobi walked Lia back to her dorm through rain and snow. They were friends for a few months before they started dating in October. One of their first dates was going ice skating around Halloween, where they dressed up as Han Solo and Princess Leia.
2014
“We made it!”
Tobi and Lia graduated on the same day, in May 2014. Tobi earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science with a minor in Business, and Lia earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Visual Communication Design with a minor in Marketing. That summer, Tobi began working as a software engineer at MRI Software in Solon, Ohio; and Lia began working as a web designer at Patriot Software in Canton, Ohio.
2015
“Let’s go for a walk!”
It was snowy, but not too cold, on January 11, 2015, when Tobi suggested to Lia that they go on a walk. They went to the Gorge, a place that held memories of past hikes in warmer weather. Their favorite spot is on top of some big rocks behind a little waterfall, which looked beautiful that day because the waterfall was frozen solid. This is where Tobi got down on one knee and proposed!
Our Wedding

The month of October holds a special place in the couple’s hearts, since that’s when they started dating five years ago. Besides, October is usually a beautiful month in Ohio; so, they decided to have a fall wedding.
The wedding ceremony will take place in Canton, Ohio, at Angelia’s family church, St. Peter Catholic Church. Directions

Tobi and Lia are so excited to celebrate this special day with their family and friends from around the world!
